This series is an impression of nine days spent in Yunnan, the mountainous chinese province bordering Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam. It aims to document the tension between the staged image of a place and the unstaged reality that surrounds it. It is not a refutation of the postcard, but an acknowledgment that the frame is always a choice. Sometimes the temptation to point the camera at the obvious view is simply irresistible, but what falls outside can be equally alive.
